The Bunkie is a collaboration project between architects Evan Bare of 608 Design and Nathan Buhler of BLDG Workshop. This small structure utilizes space for optimum functionality by incorporating prefabrication manufacturing techniques typical to furniture building. Built primarily out of plywood, the Bunkie can be packed and shipped completely flat and then later assembled together like a puzzle. The tiny structure includes two fold down beds, a table for dining and a space for storage. Glass walls enclose the space and create an organic barrier between the Bunkie’s exterior environment and the indoor habitat. [via designboom] View in gallery View in gallery View in gallery
